  • Behavior: a question usually expressed as an affirmation that can describe a certain behavior. In the case of bars evaluation questionnaire, the layout includes three fields offering three different rating definitions for each behavior.

  • Competence: It refers to a specific ability and embodies a series of behaviors grouped in the feedback reports.

  • Area: it refers to a set of abilities that embodies a series of competences.

  • Questionnaire: a collection of behaviors grouped by competences and areas. Questionnaires have a historical value: once utilized in at least one submission, they cannot be modified or deleted.

  • Participants: a group of people submitted to evaluation by a group of respondents by filling out a questionnaire. In this manual, the term participant is sometimes substituted by the term SELF.

  • Respondents: a group of people who rate the behaviors of a participant. The respondents are divided by category according to their work relationship to the participant (e.g. managers, colleagues, peers, etc.). The participant as self-evaluator is included among the respondents' list in the specific category of SELF.

  • Submission: the act of submitting the completion of a specific questionnaire to a group of respondents: the respondents rate participants for each behavior listed in the questionnaire.

  • Report: a document that analyzes the submission results with graphics and tables. It can gather the results of a single participant (feedback report) or a group of participants (group report). Individual reports are available in PDF form, Group reports are available both in PDF form and in Excel worksheet.
